Senior System Engineer

Location: Tucson, AZ

Type: Full-Time, On-Site | Duration: 24-Month Contract

Schedule: 1st Shift (Mon–Thu 7:00am–4:30pm, Fri 7:00am–3:30pm, every other Friday off – 9/80)

We’re looking for a Systems Engineer – Automation Validation to join our on-site team supporting cutting-edge autonomous haul truck systems
. This role focuses on validating and improving autonomy software and hardware integration for large off-highway machines.

You’ll design and execute test plans, perform on-machine testing, analyze data, and troubleshoot complex system issues. This is a hands-on position for engineers who want to work with next-generation automation technologies in real-world environments.

• Develop and execute validation and test plans for autonomous systems.
• Conduct on-machine testing, troubleshoot mechanical/electrical/software issues.
• Analyze test data and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Document test results, maintain reports, and ensure quality compliance.

• System Troubleshooting – Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
• Test Planning & Validation – Skilled in developing, executing, and documenting test plans for complex autonomous or control systems.
• Data Analysis & Communication – Proficient in analyzing test results and effectively communicating findings to technical teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science (Master’s a plus).
• 5–7 years’ experience in system validation, testing, or control systems.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux/Ubuntu OS.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Experience with autonomy subsystems (planning, perception, positioning) preferred.

On-site field-based role in a proving-ground environment (hot, dry, dusty conditions). Collaboration with local operators and remote engineering teams.
