This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Senior System Safety Engineer to join us onsite in Tucson, AZ.
What You Will DoAs a Senior System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs
Performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400). This includes hardware and software safety related tasks.
Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds.
Briefing safety considerations at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards
Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program
Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design
Interfacing with other engineering functions:
Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware EngineeringManaging System Safety Working Group(s) between key Raytheon and Customer representatives
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years experience in safety engineering.
Experience developing and implementing one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs
Experience performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400).
