WhatYou Will Do
- At this grade level, you will be expected to work autonomously, have expert or mastery level knowledge of the harness and interconnect domain, exercise strategic vision to influence functional and organizational strategies of the PCAS organization beyond assigned program work, and coach and review the work of other professionals.
- Support may include but is not limited to detailed mechanical design, test design and execution, systems engineering, proposals and estimates, or earned value management.
- You will be expected to flex responsibilities based on the current needs of the organization and their respective skill sets.
- The PCAS organization provides ample opportunities for hands-on hardware work. PCAS engineers are exposed to a variety of lab activities including engineering builds, hardware integration, and hardware verification.
- The PCAS organization provides a strong technical learning environment with a dedicated technology pyramid comprised of engineering fellows. PCAS engineers are provided the opportunity for direct access to these subject matter experts, fostering accelerated technical growth.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience or 7 years related experience with an advance degree
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience with engineering of complex systems of devices and interconnects.
- Experience with development of harnessing requirements, system architecture, requirements risk, requirements verification and validation, system performance & function, safety and environmental compliance
- Experience working with a wide variety of industry / military standards and specifications
- Experience generating first order electrical analysis including, but not limited to,DC resistance and voltage drop
- Experience deriving applicable technical requirements from higher level specifications
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5
- Proven ability to deconstruct higher level tasks into discrete lower-level work packages and tasks
- Proven ability to take ownership of complex harnessing systems and coordinating completion of technical data packages with peers
- Experience developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product lifecycle including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test
- Developing subject matter expertise round wire, rf, and/or rigid-flex harnesses
- Experience with harness design with mixed signals including knowledge of differential signals and shielding for EMI/RFI and crosstalk concerns.
- Moderate 3D modeling skills with a prominent commercial software package
- Experience with Pro/Engineer/CREO 3D modeling and mechanical drawing generation
- Experience with Creo Schematic, Mentor Capital, or other electrical system documentation software
