Job DescriptionJob Summary:
Teledyne FLIR Unmanned Integrated Solutions is the leading provider of mobile and/or fixed integrated advanced detection and surveillance systems for federal, state, and local agencies. We are hiring a Field Service/Support Technician (FSST) to facilitate growth and ensure our continued success in meeting customer requirements. In this position you will travel to client locations, install new equipment, respond to service requests, troubleshoot equipment issues, and provide operating training on systems.
The official work location is Tucson, AZ, but repair, maintenance and upgrade activities may occur at customer locations throughout the United States. Applicants should expect to spend up to 25% of time away from the office. Work is estimated to be 100% Customer Relations with 40% electrical, 40% mechanical, 10% software and 10% hardware.
- Responsible for the inspection, evaluation, diagnosis, maintenance, repair and/or upgrade of advanced detection and surveillance systems, including installation of company products.
- Provide field support across electrical, mechanical, software and hardware aspects.
- Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for offsite assignments; coordinate travel and perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and upgrades.
- Communicate with customers to determine service needs and perform system and sub-system testing to identify issues before deployment.
- Be a primary customer-facing representative, establishing rapport and providing professional and courteous assistance during site visits.
- Operate company vehicles and comply with license requirements and driving records.
- Experience as a Field Service/Support Technician, Automotive Technician, or background in electronics, electro-mechanical or IT with troubleshooting and repair on computer software.
- Knowledge of software, hardware, ports, connectors, and cabling; ability to use diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to obtain a passport for occasional international travel.
- Excellent time management and communication skills; strong English; additional Spanish and/or Arabic is beneficial.
- Able to lift 55 lbs, stand up to 8 hours, and climb onto/into elevated platforms; willingness to travel ~25% (mostly domestic, some international).
- Basic knowledge of SAP (training available).
