What

You Will Do
  • Applying manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designs
  • Leverage knowledge and technical skills to influence business decisions and results from new designs to recurring production
  • Design, control, and improve the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
  • Lead and coordinate projects, efforts and improvements across the extended value streams
  • Act as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the program
  • Identify and resolve constraints across the program
  • Participate in corrective action investigation
  • Provide technical input and peer review to engineering design changes
  • Provide technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineers
  • Managing the coordination and execution of program schedules with Global Supply Chain Management, Subcontracts, Engineering and other functional areas
  • Support Manufacturing Operations strategy, and utilize CORE best practices
  • Lead the effort to develop and implement cost reduction initiatives for both recurring efforts and new business opportunities
  • Coordinate Operations bids for new development and production proposals
  • Generate production plans, make/where plans, and write manufacturing sections of technical proposals
Qualifications You Must Have
  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Experience interpreting and improving technical drawings
  • Experience with MRP systems
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with Operations Management working in an Integrated Product Team/Cross Business Team (IPT / CBT) environment to ensure effective transition of programs from design to manufacturing
  • Experience communicating technical information to different audiences
  • Experience teaching, training and/or mentoring manufacturing systems to junior engineers
  • Lean Manufacturing and Management experience
  • Excellent verbal / written communications and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team building skills necessary to lead a multi-disciplined team
  • Experience with new product introductions and the design hand off to manufacturing process with focus on manufacturability
  • Experience in developing manufacturing strategies and cost proposals
  • Lean, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with IPDS (Integrated Product Development System) processes
  • Understanding of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) with proficiency in PRISM
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience dealing with suppliers and sub-contracts
  • May need to travel
