The Precision Control Actuation System department is seeking a mechanical design engineer to join the multi-disciplinary PCAS organization to support the development, build, and verification of common control actuation systems, focused on actuator design, where the individual will specifically be responsible for a common Actuator product. This role supports an integrated product team implemented across multiple programs / stakeholders with a focus on stakeholder management and therefore requires cross-functional, cross-discipline, and external collaboration.

What You Will Do
* You will provide various mechanical engineering support for a common CAS, depending on needs of the adopters, support needs may fluctuate. Based on skillsets, support may include but not limited to detailed mechanical design, earned value management, test design and execution, and systems engineering.

* You will be the main product POC and may lead a small team of lower level professionals

* You will be expected to flex responsibilities based on the current needs of the organization and their respective skill sets.

* At this grade level, you will be expected to work autonomously with minimal oversight, may manage moderate size projects, delegate work to lower level professionals, have advanced to expert knowledge of the control mechanism development domain, address problems that are difficult and complex, and influence others regarding policies, practices and procedures What You Will Learn

* Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

* A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or an advance degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

* Experience in mechanical mechanism design OR flight control systems for aerospace applications

* Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer
* Experience developing flight control systems for aerospace applications

* Experience collaborating with major subtier suppliers

* Knowledge of design and verification test of systems for common or composable products

* Flexibility to travel to supplier sites (including United Kingdom) for TIMs

* Create Daily Action Plans and track actions using a RAIL

* Perform performance testing on actuators and interpret results

* Familiarity with concepts of gear design, motor design and control architecture
