Engineering Technician I
Terracon invites candidates for the Engineering Technician I position. The role involves field and laboratory work, data collection, and collaboration with project teams to support construction projects.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
- Transport material samples with identifying documentation to the laboratory for testing and analysis.
- Tabulate, prepare, and submit written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager.
- Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
- Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites as needed.
- Adhere to strict safety standards and perform pre‑task planning.
- Under close supervision, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observation duties.
- Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
- Communicate information to the Project Manager and discuss data accuracy in preparation for submittal.
- Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager.
- Progressively take on greater training and responsibility in work assignments.
- Maintain assigned equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
- Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F‑150 or equivalent.
- Follow safety rules, report safety issues or concerns, and maintain quality standards on all projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months of relevant experience.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
- Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
- Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
