Engineering Technician I

Terracon invites candidates for the Engineering Technician I position. The role involves field and laboratory work, data collection, and collaboration with project teams to support construction projects.

• Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
• Transport material samples with identifying documentation to the laboratory for testing and analysis.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites as needed.
• Adhere to strict safety standards and perform pre‑task planning.

• Under close supervision, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observation duties.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Communicate information to the Project Manager and discuss data accuracy in preparation for submittal.
• Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager.
• Progressively take on greater training and responsibility in work assignments.
• Maintain assigned equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
• Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F‑150 or equivalent.
• Follow safety rules, report safety issues or concerns, and maintain quality standards on all projects.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.

• Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.

• Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
