Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical engineering background within our flexible packaging manufacturing operations. This role requires hands‑on expertise in industrial electrical systems, troubleshooting, project management, and equipment assessment. The Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer will work closely with various departments to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring electrical equipment reliability while minimizing downtime.
  • Oversee the implementation and scheduling of preventative maintenance (PM) programs, with emphasis on electrical systems, equipment, and control components
    .
  • Research and evaluate industrial electrical and motion‑control components; manage RFQs and purchasing for electrical repairs, upgrades, and system improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation issues impacting manufacturing operations and machinery.
  • Maintain and improve operational performance within the flexible packaging manufacturing environment.
  • Drive improvements in maintenance efficiency, machine uptime, and cost control, with focus on electrical reliability and automation enhancements.
  • Support the development and implementation of engineering solutions involving automation, electrical systems, control panels, and production machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in all engineering activities, including electrical safety practices.
  • Prepare reports and performance analysis, identifying electrical system failure trends and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.
  • Provide project management for engineering upgrades, automation enhancements, and electrical system improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
    , Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3‑5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing engineering or maintenance engineering role, preferably in flexible packaging or related industries.
  • Proven experience with electrical troubleshooting
    , and repair of automated and industrial machinery.
  • Strong technical expertise in industrial controls, electrical controls, PLCs, VFD’s, sensors, and power distribution systems
    .
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to think strategically while driving electrical and operational improvements.
  • Ability to support maintenance staff in electrical troubleshooting, sourcing electrical components, and guiding repairs.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and maintenance management software.
  • Strong background in industrial automation, controls engineering, and electrical diagnostics
    .
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements (SQF, GMP, OSHA, electrical safety standards, etc.).
  • PREFERRED experience with OEM machinery such as Uteco, DCM, ATN, Totani, and Nordmeccanica, including their electrical and control systems.
