Job Overview
Electrical Engineer II – 12‑month contract position in Tucson, AZ. US Citizenship and Secret Clearance required. We are seeking a qualified engineer to work with our Test Equipment Directorate, responsible for developing test solutions across multiple disciplines. The role involves designing interface assemblies, selecting and integrating test instruments, and contributing to all stages of test product development. You will act as part of a multidisciplinary team or independently to resolve issues and manage technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and integrate client test products within Test Equipment for multidiscipline engineering teams.
- Develop engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, circuit design and analysis (power, RF chain, error budget, etc.).
- Contribute to all stages of test product development, performing technical, cost, and schedule management of assigned projects.
- Act, either as part of the team or independently, to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of test products.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (required).
- Experience with electrical engineering: troubleshooting, analysis, test.
- Experience with common design and analysis tools:
Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Graphics, Creo Schematic. - Experience with common test equipment: oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, network analyzers, power meters.
- Experience with schematic capture tools.
- Master’s degree in STEM (preferred).
- Ability to provide technical leadership in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Experience with analog, digital, and RF design.
- Experience with mixed‑signal and electrical system interconnect.
- Experience with integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot software.
- Self‑starter able to manage workload to meet assigned deadlines.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Proficient technical writing and formal presentation experience.
- Ability to lead single‑ or multi‑discipline teams of engineers.
- Project management experience.
- Bid and proposal experience.
- Knowledge of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques.
- Experience with developing and implementing programming languages.
- Experience with troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
- Knowledge of client projects, programs or systems to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred.
Hourly contract salary: $50 – $69.75/hr (rate offered at time of hire will depend on education, experience, interview results and skill level).
