Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced PLC Controls Engineer to design, develop, and optimize industrial control systems for Caterpillar equipment and automation projects. The role involves PLC programming, SCADA/DCS configuration, system integration, and troubleshooting activities across electrical and mechanical domains. The ideal candidate will be skilled in Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms, and capable of driving automation improvements, debugging complex systems, and collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure reliable and high‑performance control solutions.
Responsibilities- Design and implement control system architecture, automation logic, and algorithms based on project requirements.
- Program and configure PLCs, HMI, SCADA, and DCS systems for new and existing equipment.
- Work with Allen Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent PLC platforms for automation development.
- Perform system integration, testing, commissioning, and debugging to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in PLC programs, control panels, sensors, and field devices.
- Analyze existing equipment and processes to identify automation enhancements and optimization opportunities.
- Document control logic, system configurations, wiring diagrams, and maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and project engineering teams on design reviews and implementation.
- 5-9 years of experience as a PLC Controls Engineer or Automation Engineer.
- Hands‑on experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens PLCs, and industrial controls hardware.
- Strong knowledge of SCADA, DCS, and HMI development.
- Experience in system integration, commissioning, and test/debug cycles.
- Ability to diagnose complex automation issues and perform root‑cause analysis.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
