Smyth Industries Engineering Division is currently searching for an individual with Water Infrastructure Industry experience as a Construction Manager to help enhance our current team. We provide full-service electrical, civil, manufacturing, engineering and general contracting services for the water and reclamation industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Scope

Under minimum supervision, perform planning, supervising, and maintaining construction projects for the water and reclamation industry. This position oversees and directs construction projects from conception to completion. Supports and adheres to the Smyth Industries Policies and Procedures, Safety Compliance, and Values.

Projects
  • Provides day to day management on a variety of construction projects simultaneously, from conception through completion, which involves developing and updating project schedules, monitoring project progress and budget, preparing, and maintaining project files, monitoring quality of projects, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Provides effective and timely project communication, both orally and in writing, and ability to represent the company in meetings and presentations to municipal and private industry clients, other governmental agencies, utilities, and the public.
  • Exhibits the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
  • Leads the project team to execute projects on time and on budget.
  • Oversees the technical work products of staff and field engineers and others performing technical tasks to support water/reclamation projects.
  • Coordinates with client and project team to develop project proposals/work plans and budgets, including assigning tasks to internal team, tracking required responses, and performing follow‑up.
  • Coordinates with customer, client, and project team to develop comprehensive plan for construction project start‑up and successful kick‑off.
  • Coordinates in a timely manner with clients, sub‑contractors, vendors, and suppliers to deliver projects, utilizing internal project tools and processes for tracking and follow‑up activities.
  • Coordinates efforts with project owner and other parts of the organization as required to meet project schedule.
