Job SummaryJoin Caterpillar as a Product Service Engineer and play a critical role in supporting our Productivity Class Large Mining Trucks (785-793) and Command Dealer Solutions Network (DSN). In this position, you will provide technical expertise, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver innovative service solutions that keep our customers’ and dealer operations running efficiently. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve product reliability and performance while ensuring compliance with Caterpillar’s quality standards.
This role offers exposure to cutting‑edge mining technology and opportunities to influence product enhancements.
- Monitor DSN for the Productivity Class (785‑793) and Command LMT, determine dealer inquiries, coordinate with internal teams to respond, and close out DSN tickets promptly.
- Track and ensure high performance levels through DSN indices.
- Collaborate with LMT Product Support, Command, and Field Assembly teams to investigate and resolve quality and reliability issues, researching data within DSN.
- Address product issues such as PSIF/SIF, ELW, and Dealer Service Tooling demands entered in the DSN.
- Gather input for potential new products or improvements to existing products.
- Evaluate production processes for manufacturing and design defects, provide input for design modifications, and maximize production efficiency and product quality.
- Identify and track quality defects, ensuring resolution in manufacturing.
- Communicate technical specifications and instructions to all stakeholders and manage product issue status.
- Contribute to CPI projects by providing field data, developing publications, and supporting closure requirements.
- Experience in product service or field engineering for heavy equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with mining equipment or large off‑highway trucks.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar systems and processes.
- Advanced data analysis and reporting capabilities.
