Early Educational Outreach Assistant

Overview

The College of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences (CALES) offers educational programs for 6th to 10th graders in Southern Arizona and parts of Phoenix. The Early Educational Outreach role will involve presenting educational sessions in classrooms and at events to inspire youth, especially first-generation students, to consider a rewarding career in STEM. During the summer, primary responsibilities will center on preparation and program development.

• Create presentations for 6th-10th grade classrooms to explore career opportunities in agriculture, life and environmental sciences.
• Develop age‑appropriate demonstrations for community events, career days and early outreach college fairs.
• Maintain a database of developed partnerships.
• Draft a detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual to establish clear operational processes.
• Organize and inventory STEM presentation supplies.
• Assemble and standardize demonstration kits.
• Develop comprehensive outreach lists for middle and high schools throughout the region.
• Support on‑ and off‑campus early educational outreach initiatives and programs.
