Summary

Contributes to the acceleration of our striving readers. Works with students to improve reading skills, consults with classroom teachers to design interventions, conducts assessments to identify students eligible for intervention services, and matches strengths with appropriate techniques and materials to promote reading interest.

Minimum Requirements
  • Arizona Elementary Certificate K-8 with Middle Grades Math Approved Area 6-8 or Math Endorsement K-8
  • OR Arizona Secondary Certificate 6-12 with Math or Middle Grades Math Approved Area 6-8 or Math Endorsement K-8
  • Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Preferred Requirements
  • Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
  • Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement
Additional Requirements After Hire
  • Proof of immunity to measles and rubella, or proof of MMR immunization.

Effective:  SCHOOL YEAR

Location: Multiple Locations – District-Wide

FTE: Varies. Typical Teacher FTE 1.0, 7.5 hours per day.

Work Calendar: 9.5 months – 207 days (212 days for new to district teachers)
