The Eller College of Management is looking for a dynamic Graduate Career Coach to join the Professional Development team. This role plays a key part in delivering the Eller College’s comprehensive professional development experience by providing individualized career coaching, facilitating impactful workshops and career programming, and helping execute small- and large-scale professional events. Success in this position is demonstrated through strong student engagement, as well as positive internship and full-time employment outcomes.

Graduate Career Coaches on our team support a broad caseload of graduate students across Full-Time MBA, Part-Time MBA, and specialized master’s programs in Marketing, Finance, Business Analytics, and MIS.

Duties & Responsibilities

Professional Development Advising:

  • Provide professional development advising to a specific caseload of students. This includes counseling on all aspects of professional career goals, including job search, resume review, and interview preparation, as well as evaluation of employment offers.
  • Create career related learning experiences in various formats, including individual sessions and group workshops.
  • Develop rapport with students to best understand and meet their needs.
  • Document student contact in Handshake for shared access by colleagues.
  • Maintain current knowledge of recruiting and hiring practices, employer needs, and industry trends affecting Eller College of Management Masters students.

Student Engagement Project Based Initiatives:

  • Collaborate with leadership to plan student engagement activities, such as teaching a career course and creating electronic newsletters.
  • Plan career focused programming, such as mock interviews, networking events, and career treks to cities of employment interest.
  • Coordinate activities ranging from small group coffee chats to signature events.

Outreach Project Based Initiatives:

  • Develop and maintain a specialty network for specific majors and industries, connecting with alumni, employers and program departments.
  • Engage network and organize events for career mentors and speaker panels.
  • Project based student engagement initiatives will be assigned to team members for management and ownership.

Professional Development Excellence:

  • Contribute to student professional development, continuous process improvement and innovation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Ability to solve problems through drawing from prior experiences, with analysis requiring innovation and creativity.
  • Ability to provide information requiring significant explanation or interpretation.
  • Ability to work with moderate guidance.
  • General knowledge and use of principles, theories and concepts.
  • Strong working knowledge of position-related functions with a broad understanding of industry standards, best practices, and professional methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Salary & Compensation

Rate of Pay: $53,039 – $66,299 (salary at 1.0 FTE).

Grade Range represents a full range of career compensation growth over time.
