Kindergarten – 2nd Grade Teacher – East Campus, 2026/2027 School Year (POOL).

Responsible for instructing scholars using the classical model of learning combined with data-driven decision-making. Create daily lesson plans, participate in ongoing professional training, meet with Administration and the Professional Development team for instructional planning based on assessment data, and collaborate with grade-level teams to plan and possibly form common unit assessments.
Line of AuthorityTeachers report to the Principal and work closely with the Vice Principal, Deans, and the Professional Development team.
Qualifications /Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and passing scores on the appropriate Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessments OR current Arizona or other state Teaching Certificate. Preference is Arizona Teaching Certificate or ability to transfer a current certificate to AZ.
- One year of demonstrated teaching experience OR an equivalent combination of training or experience.
- AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance.
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Classical curricula and learning OR willingness to learn the Classical model.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Charlotte Mason’s educational philosophy OR willingness to learn Miss Mason’s philosophy.
- Working knowledge of AzM2 and understanding of how the data is measured.
- Working knowledge of the Common Core Standards (Arizona College and Career Ready Standards) OR willingness to learn such standards.
- Online Instructional Improvement and Instructional Effectiveness System with ATI.
- Working knowledge of the Saxon Math program OR willingness to gain understanding of this approach.
- Working knowledge of the Shurley English language arts program OR willingness to learn this approach to learning grammar and compositions.
- Proven leadership ability promoting collaborative decision making.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong commitment to supporting and safeguarding excellence in classical education.
- Working knowledge of pedagogy, instructional methodology, curriculum development.
- Ability to manage conflict resolution with humility and service.
- Working knowledge of Data-Driven Instruction or willingness to learn more about data-driven instruction and assessment decision making.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with scholars, parents, and staff; build relationships.
- Commitment to promoting health and safety and a healthy environment.
- Ability to operate office equipment as required (fax, copier, computer, etc.).
- Establish and enforce rules and procedures for responsible behavior and maintain order among scholars.
- Observe and evaluate scholars' academic performance, behavior, and social development.
- Prepare materials and instructional resources based on the classical model.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet scholars' varying needs and interests.
- Plan and conduct scholar activities to provide opportunities to observe, question, discover, and investigate.
- Instruct using whole-class, small groups, and individual instruction with varied techniques.
- Notify site administrator of special needs of scholars who vary from the norm; work with Special Education Instructor.
- Provide accessible support for disabled scholars with assistive devices and technology.
- Prepare and implement ELL strategies under guidance of Administration.
- Prepare and develop curriculum maps under guidance of Administration.
- Establish objectives and standards for lessons and communicate them to scholars.
