Overview
Middle School Teacher POOL — Marana Campus: 2026/2027 SY
We are seeking a dedicated educator to instruct scholars using the classical model of learning combined with data-driven decision-making. The role includes creating daily lesson plans, participating in ongoing professional training, coordinating with Administration and the Professional Development team for instructional planning based on assessment data, and collaborating with grade-level teams to plan units and assessments.
Responsibilities- Establish and enforce rules and procedures for responsible behavior, maintaining order among scholars.
- Observe and evaluate scholars academic performance, behavior, and social development.
- Prepare materials and instructional resources based on the classical model.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet scholars varying needs and interests.
- Plan and conduct activities that provide opportunities to observe, question, discover, and investigate.
- Instruct using whole-class, small-group, and individualized approaches with varied techniques (EEI, Direct Instruction, Socratic Teaching, Cooperative Learning, Inquiry-Based Learning, Discovery Learning).
- Notify site administrator of special needs among scholars and collaborate with the Special Education Instructor as needed.
- Provide assistive devices and supportive technology for disabled scholars; support daily living skills as appropriate.
- Prepare and implement ELL strategies in an integrated classroom setting under guidance of Principal and Administration.
- Develop curriculum maps under Administrator guidance; establish clear objectives and communicate them to scholars.
- Assign and grade classwork and homework; maintain scholar data books.
- Read to classes or small groups; administer and analyze common unit assessments to monitor progress.
- Prepare, administer, and analyze formative assessments; confer with parents/guardians and administrators to address behavioral and academic issues.
- Maintain accurate scholar records and prepare scholars for later grades by encouraging exploration and perseverance.
- Guide scholars with social adjustment and/or academic interests; implement interventions for scholars needing extra help.
- Collaborate with grade-level faculty to plan lessons and follow approved curricula; participate in professional development and staff meetings.
- Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment to supplement presentations; supervise class projects and field trips as assigned.
- Organize and label materials; sponsor extracurricular activities; maintain confidentiality per FERPA.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure collaboration among scholars, staff, parents, and the district.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with passing scores on the appropriate Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessments, or current Arizona or other state Teaching Certificate. Preference for Arizona Teaching Certificate or ability to transfer current certificate to AZ. https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)./certificates
- One year of demonstrated teaching experience or an equivalent combination of training/experience.
- AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance.
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Working knowledge of Classical curricula and learning, or willingness to learn the Classical model of education.
- Working knowledge of Charlotte Mason’s educational philosophy and methodology, or willingness to learn.
- Working knowledge of AzM2 data interpretation; understanding of Common Core Standards (Arizona College and Career Ready Standards) or willingness to learn.
- Online Instructional Improvement and Instructional Effectiveness System with ATI.
- Working knowledge of the Saxon Math program, or willingness to gain understanding.
- Working knowledge of Shurley English language arts program or willingness to learn this approach.
- Proven leadership ability promoting collaborative decision making.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to positively impact the community, parents, scholars, administration, instructional staff and office support staff.
