Salary Range: $19.00 - $19.00 Hourly
The Program Educator position includes facilitation of the Stronger Families Project and administrative functions for the entire Youth Services Division.
Program Educator:
This position entails outreach and recruitment of youth and parents primarily in Pima County to participate in the Stronger Families Program. The program is also implemented in Mohave, Pinal, and Cochise County and may require some travel to these counties for program support. The program to be presented uses the Strengthening Families Program for youth 10-14 curriculum as well as an integration of Rx360 education.
The Educator will be responsible for promoting AZYP programs in school settings, community centers, and various points of contact where youth and parents congregate. The Educator will teach sessions and secure locations, dates, and times for classes. All sessions/classes will be taught in compliance with AZYP and funder policies and procedures.
Program
Essential Functions:
- Conduct outreach and recruitment to parents and youth throughout Pima County.
- Promote AZYP programs in all community arenas.
- Schedule arrangements for presentation of programs and prepare all appropriate materials.
- Conduct parent/adult and youth sessions/classes.
- Track participants to ensure goals and units of service are met.
- Complete reports as required by the fund source and/or Program Manager.
- Participate in the creation and distribution of flyers and other promotional and educational materials.
- Coordinate efforts with other AZYP programs and community staff including and not limited to covering for program staff members when needed and finding coverage for program if needed
- Participate in AZYP agency activities.
- Other duties as assigned/requested.
Administrative
Essential Functions:
- Establish, update, and verify master calendar(s) for SFP Programs and deliverables through a collaborative effort with all staff
- Recruit, train, and supervise interns and volunteers to assist with SFP Programs
- Collaborate with leadership team to ensure compliance with and successful completion of all funder/contract expectations including (but not limited to) contract requirements, output and outcome deliverables, and finance/budget guidelines
- Ensure primary coverage for all scheduled program curricula, including delivering lessons, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience working with youth in classroom/group settings.
- Knowledge of rural Arizona
- Knowledge of Word, Windows, Excel and Desktop Publishing
- Prior experience teaching or leading classes/instruction
- Creative, flexible, team player
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability/means to travel throughout rural counties
- Fingerprint and background clearance
- CPR/First Aid
- Participation in orientation and training as required by AZYP
- AZ Drivers License and reliable transportation
- Automobile Insurance in the amount of $100,000/$300,000
