Assistant Professor of Practice, Public Relations (Department of Communications) (Career-Track)
Join the University of Arizona’s Department of Communications as a career-track Assistant Professor of Practice in Public Relations. The preferred start date is Fall 2026, though Spring 2026 will also be considered. This position contributes to the department’s teaching mission in the new PR Major and the existing PR Minor.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeach both introductory and advanced PR courses, such as PR Writing, Social Media Strategy, and PR Management. Contribute to curriculum development for the PR Major and Minor. Mentor students and engage with professional organizations.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in the field of PR or a related discipline.
- Evidence of teaching excellence or strong industry experience.
- Experience in developing PR classes and/or curriculum design.
- Experience and desire to work with student professional organizations.
- Mentoring experience.
- Training and experience in instruction of Public Relations.
