Medical Director – Transplant Hepatology
Banner University Medicine and The University of Arizona – Tucson invite applications for a visionary leader to serve as Medical Director of Transplant Hepatology at a nationally recognized academic medical center. The role focuses on clinical excellence, program building, and research in liver disease management and transplantation.
ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Director will lead a growing team of hepatologists, serve as the clinical and strategic lead for transplant hepatology, and partner with transplant surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and the multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading clinical transplant hepatology services and multidisciplinary care.
- Strategic program development and expansion.
- Mentoring faculty, trainees, and staff.
- Overseeing research and academic scholarship.
- Engaging in living donor liver transplantation and advanced therapies.
- Board certification in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology.
- Demonstrated leadership in multidisciplinary liver transplant care.
- Strong commitment to program building, academic scholarship, and mentorship.
- Experience or interest in living donor transplantation, advanced liver therapies, and clinical trials is highly desirable.
Collaboration with the BIO5 Institute and the Boyer Liver Institute offers extensive research and innovation opportunities in organ regeneration, perfusion, and cellular therapies.
