The Psychiatrist will provide quality comprehensive medical care to a variety of clinic patients, in an efficient and cost-effective manner, for both the medical care and psychiatric treatment to patients at El Rio Health. The Psychiatrist delivers high-quality care for the diagnosis and treatment of disease, promotion of health and prevention of disease, and the physical and emotional support of patients and families.
The Psychiatrist provides care to new and established patients in accordance with the licensure and the highest standards of quality and integrity.
The Psychiatrist and clinical staff engage in the delivery of medical care in conjunction with budgetary, staffing, quality, and other functions of the teams which support the mission and goals of El Rio Health.
The completion of these duties, tasks, or assignments requires a high level of independent judgment and decision-making in the execution of the scope or authority and responsibility for the position. The Psychiatrist must be able to successfully perform all essential functions, duties, tasks, assignments, and responsibilities assigned within the El Rio organization at a location assigned by management. The incumbent in this position works with general direction and review and has discretion and independent judgment authority with respect to matters of significance for the assigned area.
The primary goal of the El Rio Health Psychiatrist is to support El Rio s Mission of providing comprehensive, quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all who may have healthcare needs, by successfully performing the primary essential functions.
Minimum Education and Experience- Doctor of Medicine degree or Doctor of Osteopathy or degree from an accredited medical educational institution.
- Successful completion of an accredited residency program.
If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job.
Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations- Board Eligible or Board Certified in their clinical specialty.
- Must have and maintain an active and unencumbered Arizona state license as a Physician including prescriptive authority from the Board of Medical Examiners, State of Arizona.
- Must obtain and maintain current Federal Drug Enforcement Agency License (DEA) for prescribing controlled substances.
- Must obtain and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers.
- Remain current will all licensure requirements, compliance training, Code of Conduct and other regulations as mandated by state and federal laws.
- Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver s license and must comply with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.
- Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical behavioral health setting.
- Experience prescribing appropriate medications, treatments and health regimens to treat patient health issues.
