Primary job is to clean and help protect patients' teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride) Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques) Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures. Take X-rays, scans, or dental impression. Assist doctors with treating dental patients. General knowledge of all dental instruments and procedures is necessary.
Must be knowledgeable with the sterilization and decontamination process utilizing infection control and safety practices during all phases of the clinical processes. Hygienist will be expected to provide an exceptional patient experience for new and existing clientele. Also, have general knowledge and understanding of all specialties performed in the practice including but not limited to Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, and General Dentistry.
