Overview
Looking to make extra income on the weekends spending time mentoring and having fun with kids? Then being a Respite Lead Direct Care Professional at Devereux is for YOU. Located in Tucson, AZ, our Respite Program provides an interval of rest for individuals and their primary caregivers without disruption to their home environments. We provide Respite services to individuals from birth to age 17, who are experiencing moderate emotional or behavioral difficulties.
Through the Respite program, kids get to enjoy group activities and field trips to museums, roller skating, movies, arcades, park visits, and more. We operate out of residential houses, creating a fun and safe home-like environment for those in our care.
The Lead Direct Care Professional (Lead DCP) protects the health and safety of individuals while assisting the Program Coordinators with supervising, planning, and implementing program activities and managing children’s behaviors. Lead DCPs serve as mentors and have fun with kids through year-round activities. The Lead DCP will assist with planning, implementing, and documenting activities designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of individuals in the Respite Program.
This position also serves as a role model, mentor, leader, and/or trainer to Direct Care Professional staff.
Pay Range: $18 - $19.80 / hr
Part Time Weekend
Schedule:
12-hour shifts; must be available every Saturday and a minimum of two Sundays per month

- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School diploma or GED required;
Bachelor's degree preferred - Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check
- Two (2) years experience in behavioral health service delivery; or one (1) year Devereux experience (internal staff)
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Attend mandatory full-time New Hire Orientation Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm for 8 days (paid)
- Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
- Drug test within 24hrs of offer with negative results
- Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions). Arizona Revised Statutes Notice (ARS 36-411 Residential care institutions; nursing care institutions; home health agencies; fingerprinting requirements; exemptions; definitions). If a person's employment record contains a six-month or longer time frame during which the person was not employed by any employer, a completed application with a new set of fingerprints shall be submitted to the department of public safety.
