Overview
The Director of Business Development is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and advancing strategic partnerships and growth opportunities that expand the health care system’s reach, capabilities, and revenue. This role serves as a connector - building trusted relationships with external partners while working closely with internal clinical, operational, and executive leaders to evaluate and execute opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.
EssentialFunctions
- Partnership Development & Relationship Management
- Identify and cultivate relationships with providers, employers, payers, vendors, and community organizations either directly or through the management of marketing/sales professional(s).
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external partnership discussions.
- Represent the organization at industry and community events.
- Opportunity Identification & Evaluation
- Identify new growth opportunities across service lines and markets.
- Evaluate partnerships, joint ventures, and commercial opportunities.
- Develop business cases and executive presentations.
- Sales & Revenue Growth
- Drive sales growth through relationship-based selling.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align offerings with market demand.
- Support contract development and negotiations.
- Internal Collaboration & Execution
- Work cross-functionally to advance approved initiatives.
- Support implementation and transition to operational teams.
- Track performance against defined goals.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics.
- Provide insights to senior leadership.
- Manage Existing Joint Ventures / Relationships
- Attend regular board meetings of the joint ventures, representing TMCH Health’s interests.
- Ensure the success of the joint venture in collaboration with executive leadership.
- Conduct regular field visits and lead in-person meetings with clients and stakeholders.
- Adhere to TMCH organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies, and standards.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, management, healthcare administration or a closely related field of study from an accredited university.
EXPERIENCE
:
Ten (10) or more years of related experience in healthcare in network development, finance, operations, sales, marketing and/or strategic planning, with a minimum of seven years in a senior leadership role.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION
:
Valid AZ driver’s license or ability to obtain within 60 days or hire.
- Skill in assessing and evaluating needs of the organization and making and evaluating recommendations.
- Strong relationship-building, analytical, and communication skills.
- Skill in making persuasive presentations, championing acceptance and incorporation of change, new processes, and encouraging support.
- Skill in effectively communicating both, orally and in writing, acting as a group facilitator and mediator.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across all levels of the organization, building relationships with vendors, contractors, government, or other organizations and with the community.
- Ability to travel locally by car on a frequent basis. Driving is an essential function of this role, as regular travel to client sites and/or work locations is required.
