The Small Business Development Center Coordinator provides administrative, operational, and client-service support to the Small Business Development Center. The Coordinator manages client intake, maintains compliance and reporting documentation, and coordinates workshops and related activities. The Coordinator conducts initial startup advising for pre-venture and early-stage clients and directs them to appropriate SBDC resources. The Coordinator ensures efficient workflow, accurate documentation, and consistent client engagement to support the Center’s overall program goals.
The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends.
Continued employment in the position is contingent upon continued funding through designated external sources.
Duties & Responsibilities- Coordinates administrative and operational functions for the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), including scheduling, correspondence, purchasing, records management, and general program support, using spreadsheets, databases, teleconferencing platforms, and other office technologies to perform daily tasks
- Prepares and processes reports, requisitions, purchase orders, financial documentation, and required materials for grant and compliance reporting
- Supports tracking of program budgets, event costs, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with College and grant requirements
- Coordinates logistics for client workshops and events, including planning, registration, materials preparation, facilitation support, and follow-up activities
- Serves as a liaison among clients, staff, faculty, and community partners, ensuring clear communication, building trust, and maintaining positive working relationships with diverse clients and stakeholders to support coordinated service delivery

- Conducts intake and initial counseling sessions with pre-venture and startup clients, providing guidance on foundational business requirements such as planning, licensing, market research, and startup costs
- Assists clients in identifying challenges, establishing goals, and developing action plans; refers clients with advanced needs to SBDC Business Consultants or appropriate campus or community resources
- Maintains accurate, confidential client records and ensures compliance with all SBDC/SBA documentation, reporting, and operating requirements, adhering to confidentiality and regulatory standards
- Monitors and maintains departmental files, supplies, operational resources, and support systems to ensure efficient workflow and program continuity
- Coordinates operational needs by submitting and following up on IT, facilities, purchasing, or logistical requests to resolve issues and support Center operations
- Attends SBDC workshops, PCC events, and community partner activities as required to support Center operations
- Applies critical thinking to evaluate situations, anticipate issues, and make appropriate decisions within the scope of the role
- Responds to changing priorities, facilitates resolution of routine operational issues, and supports continuous improvement of Center processes
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor
