Primary Function

The Senior Trust Administrator is an integral member of Mission’s Trust Administration and Client Advisory Team. The Senior Trust Administrator works directly with Trust Officers to assist in the administration of fiduciary, investment management, and custodial accounts in accordance with Mission’s policies and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This position must effectively carry out the essential duties in a manner that consistently demonstrates the Core Values of the Credit Union and Mission in a positive manner. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following; however other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Account Administration:
  • Assist Trust Officers in the management of accounts to ensure that all objectives are met and are consistent with governing documents, fiduciary administration principles, and legal standards.
  • Assist Trust Officers with the day‑to‑day administrative activities related to fiduciary, investment management, and custodial accounts.
  • Assist Trust Officers in the coordination and maintenance of operational functions for accounts.
  • Assist Trust Officers with account openings, account onboarding, and account closings.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, status reports, and annual reviews on accounts.
  • Assist Trust Officers to provide sound, relationship‑based solutions to account related problems.
  • Support Trust Officers with client contact and relationship management.
  • Assist Trust Officers to coordinate with client’s existing professional and personal team, including attorneys, tax professionals, powers of attorney, and care managers.
  • Support Trust Officers with business development efforts.
  • Other Administrative Duties:
  • Attend monthly Trust Administrative Committee meetings.
  • Maintain client files in accordance with Mission’s documentation standards and established retention policy.
  • Serve as back up to other Mission staff for office duties.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, Paralegal or CTFA certification required.
  • Fiduciary, paralegal or trust administration experience preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook and Word, and the aptitude to use other computer programs as required.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Project related travel to Tucson or Phoenix offices, as necessary.
Language Skills

A qualified individual must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. This position will require the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and strong communication skills are necessary to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, the Board of Directors, and other various groups.

Skills

This position will require the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

A qualified person must be able to solve analytical practical problems and to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Also, the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form will be required. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Office, and Access.
