Conference and Events Coordinator – Medicine Administration (COM-T)

The College of Medicine – Tucson (COM-T) Academic Celebrations & Special Events team seeks a dedicated Coordinator to support the College’s engagement, communications and development mission. The Coordinator will plan, coordinate and execute internal and external events in alignment with the College’s strategic goals.

Position Highlights
  • Strategic event planning and execution for the College/Dean’s Office.
  • Logistics management including catering, venue, AV, décor, permits and photography.
  • Collaboration with Brand Communications, Alumni Engagement and internal stakeholders to design event advertising, scripts, programs and invitations.
  • Operational support during events, troubleshooting and post‑event follow‑up.
  • Ensure compliance with University of Arizona and COM-T policies for all events.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage event logistics, agreements, and budget tracking.
  • Provide on‑site event operations and troubleshooting support.
  • Work closely with internal partners to design program content and marketing materials.
  • Assist in initiating new projects and events within the Dean’s Office.
  • Coordinate staffing and volunteer support to deliver polished events.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Current knowledge of new technologies and communication outlets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Three (3) years of relevant event‑planning experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a higher education or medical institution setting.
  • Knowledge of event compliance and safety standards.
Benefits & Compensation

Competitive hourly rate of $25.50 – $31.87 and full Benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, paid vacation, sick leave and tuition reduction for employees and eligible families.
