Staff Accountant
Reason for Opening:
Current Staff Accountant is moving out of state
Work Hours:
35‑hour workweek, East Coast hours. Paid 1‑hour lunch. Schedules: 6-2, 7-3, or 8-4
Compensation: $60,000-$75,000 (flexible based on experience)
Benefits: 10% 401(k) contribution with 100% match day one. Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans (80% paid), dental, vision, life insurance.
Must‑Haves- Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance OR 5+ years of GL accounting experience if no degree
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat (non‑negotiable)
- Ability to maintain email communication and manage tasks proactively
- Intention to remain in Tucson long‑term
- Interest in pursuing higher education or growth in the industry
- Reports to Senior Accountant
- Month‑end close tasks for multiple subsidiaries
- Assist in preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
- Perform account analysis and prepare detailed spreadsheets
- General ledger accounting and transaction review
- Additional tasks as assigned
- Work with all levels of staff and management
- Detail‑oriented with high accuracy
- Strong communication skills
- Curious, eager to learn, flexible with tasks
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Organized and able to report progress/issues to management
- Comfortable in a lean environment and taking on new tasks
