Sr. Accountant

Description

Our client, in the Construction industry, is in need for a Senior Accountant to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis! In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, budgets, and reporting processes. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their accounting experience, whether they're a Staff Accountant looking to take the next step to a Senior, or a Senior Accountant that is looking to continue growing their overall skillset as the client is in growth mode.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements in collaboration with the Controller.

- Reconcile company balance sheets to maintain financial accuracy.

- Record month-end adjusting entries and ensure proper documentation is organized and accessible.

- Assist with generating monthly financial reports and key performance indicators.

- Work closely with department managers to address financial needs and ensure compliance with established guidelines.

- Develop and refine company policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

- Support the preparation of budgets by collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data.

- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and uphold high standards.

- Foster a positive and supportive work environment within the accounting department.

- Stay current with industry practices through ongoing development activities and networking opportunities.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred

- Minimum of five years of experience in financial accounting.

- Proficiency in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and journal entries.

- Strong skills in account reconciliation, including bank and balance sheet accounts.

-Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, x-lookups); familiarity with Intacct and Service Titan is a plus.

- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.

- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments.

- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
