Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a rural Arizona hospital, requiring an active RN license and strong perioperative skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital operating room setting

• Circulates in all specialty areas including orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, general, ophthalmology, and dental surgeries

• Expected to work four 10-hour day shifts per week on weekdays, with on-call rotation

• Treats both inpatient and outpatient surgical cases, with a significant number of ambulatory procedures

• Responsible for comprehensive perioperative care using the nursing process

• May need to scrub in on cases and is encouraged to gain scrubbing experience

• Must be prepared for emergency procedures and odd hours during on-call shifts

• Participation in orientation sessions provided every two weeks

• COVID-19 and flu vaccination required or formal declination form must be submitted

• Rural work environment with culturally diverse patient population

• Limited shared housing may be available; family members and pets are not allowed in provided housing

• Housing application must be submitted two weeks before start date

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state or territory

• Minimum of two years of recent clinical and/or operating room nursing experience required

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association

• Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing required

• PALS certification from the American Heart Association must be obtained within six months of hire

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) completion required within six months of hire

• CNOR certification must be completed within one year of hire

• TNCC certification required within two years of hire
