OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY
The majority of the workload is pharmacy supply management for the inpatient, outpatient, and field clinic pharmacy programs. The primary knowledge and skills used will be in the preparation / review / control of medications and other pharmaceutical products to patients, inpatient nursing staff or physicians. The work product directly affects the health of inpatients and outpatients. All pharmaceutical actions are accomplished in accordance with Federal and state law, Department of Health and Human Services Regulations, IHS requirements, and Drug Enforcement Agency regulations.
QualificationsNECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Must have high school diploma or GED
Certification:
- Must have and maintain a current Pharmacy Technician licensure in any state or territory of the United States.
Experience:
- Must have at least three (3) years experience in a hospital / clinic setting.
- Must have at least one (1) year procurement experience in a hospital / outpatient setting
Other
Skills and Abilities:
A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers. All employment references must address and indicate success in each one of the following areas:
- Positive working relationships with others
- Possession of high ethical standards and no history of complaints
- Reliable and dependable; reports to work as scheduled without excessive absences.
- Articulation skills (writing and verbal)
- Must demonstrate skills in the practical use of electronic systems and database management software.
- Must demonstrate intra‑venous preparation skills, and satisfactory sterile technique.
- Knowledge of supply trends and medical material expiration cycles is required to effectively rotate and maintain pharmaceutical material in a state of readiness.
- Must not have any prior records of substance or drug abuse.
- Proficiency with computer applications such as but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Completion of and above‑satisfactory scores on all job interviews, demonstrating to the satisfaction of the interviewees and TCRHCC that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
- Successful completion of and positive results from all background and reference checks, including positive employment references from authorized representatives of past and current employers demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC a record of satisfactory performance and that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
- Successful completion of fingerprint clearance requirements, physical examinations, and other screenings indicating that the applicant is qualified to be employed by TCRHCC and demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
- Submission of all required employment‑related documents, applications, resumes, references, and other required information free of false, misleading or incomplete information, as determined by TCRHCC.

The incumbent must have the to stand and walk for prolonged periods of workday, sit, bend, kneel, reach and crouch frequently and drive, climb, twist and maintain balance occasionally. The incumbent must have the ability to lift, push and pull up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally. The incumbent must have the ability for telephone and keyboard use ¾ of workday frequently;
simple and firm grasping, far, near, color vision, depth perception, seeing fine details, hearing norm speech and hearing overhead pages frequently and fine manipulation occasionally.
