Mill Machinist Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Swing Shift CNC Mill Set-up Technician to join our team. This position involves working from 3pm to 11:30pm, focusing on precision machining tasks. The role requires a strong sense of urgency and a commitment to maintaining established processes.
Responsibilities- Perform short-run precision CNC machining and manage 1st runs.
- Set-up and operate CNC and machining centers to fabricate precision machined parts.
- Utilize equipment such as vertical milling, horizontal milling, and multi-axis machines.
- Specialize in setting up mill turn sub spindle live tooling lathes independently.
- Collaborate closely with Programming and Manufacturing Managers to optimize cycle times and machine operations.
- Provide guidance and instruction to other machine operators and personnel.
- Offer input to programmers and technical personnel and may be assigned to program CNC machines using CAD and CAM software.
- Ensure efficient production, on-time delivery, and compliance with customer specifications.
- Collaborate with various departments such as engineering, inspection, manufacturing, and quality for integration and feedback.
- Intermediate or Journeyman level CNC Mill Machining Experience.
- Proficiency in vertical and horizontal machining, capable of managing setups independently.
- Process-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to established procedures.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to review and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and specifications for machining operations.
- Experience with G&M codes and blueprint reading.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with 5-axis CNC Mill operations.
- Knowledge of Mastercam software.
- Familiarity with Renishaw probe systems for efficiency in part setup.
- Experience with Mazak CNCs is a plus.
- Willingness to consider candidates with only 4-axis experience.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of TUALATIN, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 – $32.00/hr.
