We are seeking an Oven Operator to join our hard working and fast-paced team. You will assist in a variety of positions or tasks with the production of a variety of bread products. All work will be performed in accordance with SQF Food Safety procedures. Job tasks may change from day to day depending upon production needs.
Ability to- Perform in a friendly, courteous, tactful way and maintain composure in dealing with coworkers.
- Visually inspect products.
- Stand for long periods of time, walk, move rapidly, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
- Operate bakery utensils, ovens and machinery with manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and safety.
- Handle bakery ingredients and products from raw to ready to eat.
- Perform basic math (add, subtract, divide and multiple) and compute weights and measures.
- Perform duties with mental alertness involving potential hazards with respect to baking procedures, equipment, and work aides.
- Perform around equipment and product emitting heat (approximately 400 degrees).
- Learn safety and sanitation procedures and department policies.
- Perform primary duties with efficiency and accuracy.
- Wear hats, hairnets, gloves, and other personal protective equipment as required.
- Lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Must be 18 years of age
- No high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in similar production line duties at a large commercial or artisan bakery is preferred.
- Work experience in other similar industrial, manufacturing, or a production-line environment may substitute.
- Adherence to company core values at GFB.
