Role
The Head of Retail is accountable for setting and delivering the retail growth strategy for St Ewe, ensuring profitable, sustainable growth across all UK retail customers.
This role owns the end‑to‑end retail channel: strategy, customer relationships, commercial delivery, team capability and cross‑functional execution. The role moves beyond day‑to‑day account management to shape how St Ewe wins in retail, balancing brand, margin, service and long‑term partnerships.
The Head of Retail is a senior commercial leader, representing retail at SLT level, contributing to 3‑year strategy and ensuring today's plans deliver tomorrow's ambition.

- Strong, trusted senior relationships with key retail customers
- Retail team is high‑performing, well‑structured and future‑ready
- Forecast accuracy, availability and service levels support commercial ambition
- Commercial decisions are data‑led, disciplined and aligned cross‑functionally
- St Ewe is recognised by retailers as a strategic partner, not just a supplier
- Strong commercial and financial acumen (P&L ownership)
- Senior‑level negotiation and influencing capability
- Strategic thinking with operational grip
- Proven people leadership and coaching skills
- Ability to operate credibly at SLT and customer director level
- Senior retail or grocery commercial role within FMCG / food (Over £100m)
- Experience leading national retail customers
- Track record of delivering profitable growth, not just volume
- Experience building and leading high performing commercial teams
- Comfortable operating in a fast growth, high pace, values led‑business
- £75k‑85k per annum + car allowance
