Staff Nurse - Trauma Unit

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity available at the Royal Cornwall Hospital for a Registered Nurse to join our committed team on the Trauma Unit. The Trauma Unit is a 54 bedded Trauma and Orthopaedic unit, which cares for patients pre-operative and post-operative; the Trauma Unit has a fantastic MDT approach and a wide variety of patients.

• To work as a skilled member of the nursing team.
• To provide a high standard of compassionate patient centred care.
• To lead and supervise the work of other qualified and unqualified staff within the team.
• To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
• To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff, as deemed appropriate by the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse or Clinical Matron.

• Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills and have a good knowledge and understanding of clinical standards.
• You must be able to work on your own initiative and also be an excellent team player whilst being prepared to develop as an individual and support others to develop.
• To learn and gain new skills and competencies and to be motivated to develop the highest standards of care and to commit to continuous improvement.
