Are you a dietician looking for a new professional challenge? With either experience of working with Eating Disordered individuals or wanting to expand and develop your knowledge to work in the field of Adult Eating Disorders in a passionate and dedicated Countywide Service?

The successful candidate will be working closely with our band 7 in house dietician and physical health team providing high quality, targeted dietetic support to both our treatment as usual and FREED pathway clients within Cornwall's Countywide Adult Eating Disorder service.

With the changing face of our target population currently and in recent years, the service is working towards expansion and restructuring allowing the successful candidate to join us as a key member of the team at this exciting time, helping us to shape the service as we aim of accreditation and providing the best service possible to our client group.

This is a community-based role that requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the county including areas that may not be accessible by public transportation. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate how they will manage these travel requirements.

Main duties of the job

In this senior autonomous role, you will provide specialist assessment, treatment and nutritional support for adults and young people with eating disorders, working closely with families and our multi-professional teams. You will contribute to service development, create resources to support patient care, and lead on audit and evaluation within the dietetic pathway.

You will bring advanced clinical knowledge, strong communication skills and an empathic, flexible approach to managing complex cases. As a key member of both the Adult and CAMHS Eating Disorder teams, you will help shape practice and contribute to policy development within the service.

Person Specification Education and Qualification
  • Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or equivalent leading to Health Professions Council (HPC)
  • Registration as a Dietitian
  • A teaching qualification or experience of teaching groups.
  • A wide range of post registration dietetic experience including delivery of services in the community and some experience of working in Mental health services
  • Advanced certificate in counselling skills or counselling experience
  • Membership of the British Dietetic Association Mental Health Group.
  • Working with people with mental illness and eating disorders
Skills and Aptitude
  • Able to work in highly stressful situations including the ability to manage distressing and highly emotive situations successfully.
