Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Emergency Department and Admitting Areas
Permanent, 37.5 hrs per week. Includes working twilight shifts and weekend working on a rota.
About the roleJoin our friendly, dynamic Therapy Service within the Emergency Department and admitting areas at Treliske Hospital. The role provides a high standard Occupational Therapy service to patients at Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust. The main duties include specialist assessment, treatment, and goal setting of patients on the wards, clinical cross cover, deputising as delegated by your Clinical Team Lead, and attending clinical level discussions / meetings relating to your area of work as delegated by your Clinical Team Lead.
Responsibilities- Provide specialist assessment, treatment, and goal setting of patients on the wards.
- Determine clinical diagnosis and Occupational Therapy treatment indicated.
- Maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
- Provide clinical cross cover and deputise as delegated by your Clinical Team Lead.
- Attend clinical level discussions / meetings relating to your area of work as delegated by your Clinical Team Lead.
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC Registered.
- Evidence of further formal study e.g. Postgraduate qualifications (Postgraduate certificate/Diploma, Masters modules, or equivalent management qualification).
- Comprehensive experience of working in an acute healthcare setting.
- Comprehensive experience as a Band 5 OT working across a variety of physical rehab settings.
- Experience of working in an MDT and evidence of respect for other professions.
- Experience of managing the risks associated with lone working.
- Experience of working with students, either as a clinical educator, or supporting a clinical educator.
- Membership of relevant professional body.
- Membership of relevant specific interest groups.
Fixed term, 10 months. £38,682 to £46,580 a year pa pro rata. Agenda for change.
