The Community Nursing Service in Carrick Cornwall offers a fantastic opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic Community Healthcare Assistants to join our service. The successful candidates must demonstrate a passion for delivering nursing care to adults in their own homes, including those approaching end‑of‑life, and be able to travel independently each day to patients’ homes and other venues around the geographical area.
MainDuties
- Carry out personal care to patients at the end of their lives, wound care and venepuncture.
- Provide direct care to patients and carers, supporting the registered nurse, often without direct supervision.
- Work within a given geographical area on a flexible rota covering 8 am to 10 pm, including on‑call duties.
- Member of the community nursing team operating under a flexible rota shift system.
- High standard of service within a community setting, requiring professional development through our community matrix.
- Evidence of experience in a care setting.
- NVQ Level 3 qualification in Care or equivalent experience.
- GCSE Maths & English or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and under time restraints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to cope under pressure.
