Deli Clerk

Job Summary

The Deli Clerk at Save Mart is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing, slicing, and packaging deli products. This role ensures high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and product quality while creating a positive shopping experience for customers.

• Greet customers and assist with deli orders in a friendly, efficient manner
• Slice meats and cheeses to customer specifications using deli equipment
• Prepare, package, label, and display deli products
• Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards
• Monitor product freshness and rotate stock as needed
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment, utensils, and work areas
• Assist with inventory control and restocking supplies
• Follow all company policies and health department regulations

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous deli, food service, or retail experience is a plus
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to safely operate slicers and other deli equipment
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods

• Monday-Friday 9am-7pm
• Seasonal position expected to run until end of Spring 2026
