The Oncology Registered Nurse evaluates, plans, implements and documents nursing care for the oncology patient population. The Oncology Registered Nurse works in hospitals and outpatient care centers where patients receive cancer treatments. In hospital settings, the Oncology Registered Nurse assists with surgery prep, patient education and coordination of their cancer treatments. In outpatient care center settings, the Oncology Registered Nurse typically helps with treatments such as chemotherapy and infusions while monitoring patients' vitals, side effects, and pain.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Current RN license in state practicing
  • One (1) year of experience in oncology nursing preferred
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Oncology Infusion RN - Staff Nurse

Location: Truckee, CA (near Lake Tahoe)
Schedule: Full-time | 40 hrs/week | 4x10s (Mon-Fri, one weekday off)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks (ideal)

About the Opportunity

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse to join a respected healthcare facility in Truckee, California. This position offers the chance to provide high-quality oncology care in a scenic mountain community near Lake Tahoe and Reno, NV-a perfect combination of rewarding work and an amazing environment.

Position Responsibilities
  • Safe, competent administration of anti-neoplastic medications
  • Central line assessment and management
  • Rapid response and management of medication reactions
  • Coordination and communication with a collaborative oncology care team
  • Manage a caseload of 5-7 patients per day
  • Documentation and workflow using EPIC EMR
  • Utilize facility equipment, including PTE for medication safety, infusion pumps (including CADD home pumps), and vital sign monitoring
  • No call requirements
Schedule
  • 4x10-hour shifts
  • Monday-Friday (one set day off during the week)
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
Qualifications

Experience
  • 3-5 years RN experience
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemo Immunotherapy Administration Certification
  • Expert IV therapy skills
  • Experience assessing critically ill patients in oncology, ICU, ED, or similar high-acuity settings
Education & Licensure
  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an NLN, CCNE, or equivalent accredited program
  • Active California RN License
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers
Assignment Details
  • Weekly Pay: $3,510
    • $1,914 taxable
    • $1,596 stipends (housing + meals)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks preferred
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • EMR: EPIC
  • No call, no weekends
