Rate of Pay: $40.98/hour + DOE (Base Pay of $36.43 includes 12.5% per diem premium)
SummaryCleans, sterilizes assembles equipment, supplies and instruments according to established policies and procedures. Performs material management functions in relation to par levels. Documents sterilization processes. Interfaces with Surgical Services, patient care units, and physician offices providing support as requested. Integrates concepts and principles of sterilization with critical thinking processes resulting in independent optimum decision‑making abilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Understands self-protection and operates machinery safely in the decontamination room.
- Understands, operates, and monitors all sterilizers’ safety.
- Responsible for supply, assembly, and proper care of all instrumentation and equipment.
- Handles needles, syringes and pre-packaged medications. Understands applicable safety and compliance requirements.
- Maintains keys for Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) pumps. Understands applicable safety and compliance requirements.
- Issues and delivers supplies and equipment for patients, departments, and physician offices.
- Available to work standby.
- Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
- Complies with System policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

Required:
- A minimum of eighteen (18) months full time experience working as a sterile processing technician in a sterile processing department.
- Ability to access, print and pick preference cards.
- Ability to operate computerized sterilization equipment following written guidelines.
- Yearly attendance at a designated education seminar is recommended. .
