We are hiring an HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations for approximately 120 employees across Ohio, California, and Massachusetts. This role is based onsite at the Americas Headquarters in Troy, Ohio and supports a mixed workforce of union and non-union employees, hourly and salaried populations, and front-line managers.
This role reports directly to the HR Director – Americas and serves as a key operational support partner, helping execute employee relations processes, policy application, documentation, leave coordination, and compliance activities. Strategic and corporate-facing responsibilities remain with HR leadership; this role focuses on strong execution, consistency, and responsiveness.
This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys solving people issues, supporting leaders in real time, maintaining strong documentation, and operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with high activity levels.
Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Manager Support- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions and routine employee relations matters.
- Support investigations, corrective actions, performance management documentation, and terminations under the direction of HR leadership.
- Coach supervisors and managers on policy application, attendance standards, documentation expectations, and employee issue resolution.
- Maintain consistent and timely documentation.
- Apply company policies consistently across union and non-union populations.
- Draft routine employee communications, disciplinary documentation, and supporting materials.
- Support updates to policies and procedures as directed by HR leadership.
- Support union environments including attendance programs, documentation preparation, and grievance support with guidance from HR leadership and operations leadership.
- Ensure consistent application of collective bargaining agreements.
- Support compliance activities across Ohio, California, and Massachusetts.
- Coordinate leave processes including FMLA, ADA accommodations, state leave programs, and return-to-work documentation in partnership with Payroll and HR leadership.
- Maintain accurate records and tracking.
- Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS.
- Ensure documentation, approvals, and workflow accuracy.
- Partner with Payroll to ensure clean data flow and compliance alignment.
- Maintain a visible presence supporting employees and leaders.
- Respond to employee questions, resolve routine issues, and elevate sensitive matters appropriately.
- 4–7+ years of HR Generalist experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Experience supporting both union and non-union work forces.
- Exposure to multi-state HR environments strongly preferred (CA and/or MA).
- Working knowledge of employee relations processes, documentation standards, attendance programs, and investigations.
- Strong written communication and organization skills.
- Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
- Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced environment.
