Upper Valley Medical Center — Rehab Clinical Associate (PRN, Support)

The Rehab Clinical Associate assumes a supportive role on the Rehab care team, performing clerical functions including patient scheduling/registration, and assisting in providing treatment to patients under the supervision of a licensed therapist or therapist assistant. The role helps maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment.

• Perform clerical functions: scheduling, and assisting with patient registration (including adding pertinent financial and demographic information), verifying insurance benefit information, generation of ABN, reviewing orders for compliance, completion of MSP, obtaining financial/treatment consents, placing ordered PT/OT/SP, obtaining and tracking pre-certifications and Medicare Plan of Care certifications when applicable, and collecting payments for self-pay services and programs.
• Assist in informing patients about co-pays and deductibles.
• Initiate projects to meet departmental needs and contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
• Demonstrate Customer Focus with patience, composure, and compassion. Cope with change, manage time effectively, and maintain interpersonal savvy while supporting peer relationships.
• Understand and explain hospital financial policies to patients and obtain payment for patient liability and self-pay services/programs.
• Maintain excellent customer service standards at all times, and ensure patient confidentiality and privacy rights when communicating with physicians, physician offices, patients, and co-workers.

• Minimum Level of
  
  Education Required:
  
  High School completion / GED

• Current CPR certification required at the time of hire (hospital only)
• First Aid Certification within six months of employment (hospital only)

No prior job-related work experience required.

• 1 – 3 years of job-related experience.
• Customer Service, general clerical/office, hospital, medical office/clinic, or insurance company experience.
• Applicable class work may be substituted for previous work experience.
