Overview
The Occupational Therapist (PRN) at Upper Valley Medical Center works in an outpatient clinic, playing an integral leadership role within the interdisciplinary care team. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans and goals in partnership with patients, and delivering a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions. The therapist provides education and support to patients and families and coordinates plans for ongoing care.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the therapist contributes to staff development, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement of professional practices. A strong focus on exceptional customer service and collaboration is essential to the department's success.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans and goals in partnership with patients.
- Deliver a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families; coordinate plans for ongoing care.
- Contribute to staff development, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement of professional practices.
- Promote exceptional customer service and collaboration within the department.
- Occupational Therapy degree from an accredited program
- Current Occupational Therapy license in State of Ohio.
- Current BLS certification required at time of hire
- Hand Therapy experience preferred
- Preferred experience:
1-3 years of job related experience
- Able to multi-task with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor
- Dependable, flexible and adaptable to change
- Teamwork oriented; display tact, diplomacy, and professionalism
- Strong analytical and prioritization skills; strong organizational skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
