Overview
The Technician I supports product development within the Lab Group, with responsibilities spanning prototype fabrication, mechanical testing, and manufacturing activities. This position works closely with engineers and fellow technicians to assemble test fixtures, conduct mechanical testing, inspect parts and components, and keep accurate records, reporting results to validate performance against customer requirements. The Technician I is involved in multiple active projects and is expected to maintain high standards of quality, follow defined procedures, and contribute to the timely delivery of program milestones.
Responsibilities- Assemble test fixtures and conduct mechanical testing to validate performance against customer requirements.
- Inspect parts and components and maintain accurate records of results.
- Report results to support validation and decision-making.
- Manufacture prototype parts through welding robot operation, hand welding, assembly, and painting; perform quality checks.
- Support shipping, receiving, and logistics as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers and fellow technicians on multiple active projects; maintain high quality and follow procedures.
- Contribute to the timely delivery of program milestones.
- Skills required: Strong communication, ability to work in a team, basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, welding knowledge.
- Experience: 0-2 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Education: Associates Degree in Automotive, Mechanical or related field, or High school diploma or GED plus 4 years of experience.
