Driver III

Overview

CEVA Logistics provides global supply chain solutions. This role is Driver III, operating heavy and tractor-trailer GVW capacity trucks over 26,000 pounds to transport cargo to and from various destinations, with emphasis on safety and compliance with DOT regulations.

Pay Range: $26.49

• Act as a messenger for the company and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Operate vehicle to transport materials to and from specified destinations in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with State and Federal DOT regulations and all Transportation Security Administration requirements.
• Protect company equipment and freight from damage, theft, or tampering.
• Oversee safety of cargo and units to ensure proper securing and condition; verify cargo accuracy and review delivery documentation.
• Load freight onto the truck using appropriate equipment and secure with load locks, straps, covers, etc.; unload freight at destination.
• May reload or unload trailer via refinery or storage facility as needed.
• Report any irregularities related to pick-up or delivery (e.g., damage, shortage, customer complaints) promptly.
• Maintain radio contact or communication with dispatch and report delays due to weather, breakdowns, accidents, or other emergencies.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6- months verifiable CDL Class A or B driving experience in the industry and in the type of vehicle to be driven.
• Minimum 5 years of industry driving experience; may be substituted for a high school diploma or GED.
• Some positions require experience with transporting fuel over the road and fueling locomotives as well as railroad industry experience.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English (as outlined in the Road Executive Order and stated in Federal law).

Credentials:

• Valid state issued Class A or B Driver's License; hazardous materials endorsement for some positions.
• Acceptable driving record as defined by DOT regulations, TSA regulations and Company policy.
• Must meet the physical requirements established by the DOT and have or be able to provide a current valid medical card.
• Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Card as needed.
• E Rail clearance is required for some positions.
• DOT Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials Certification. Must be bondable.
