Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, we are in search of a Maintenance Technician I, for our Troy, MI facility. This position plays a critical role in achieving our strategic objectives. Trystar’s Maintenance Technician I position is an important part of Trystar’s plan to become the world’s foremost custom solution provider.

Trystar is a leader in portable and permanent power distribution solutions. The Maintenance Technician I will report to the Facilities/Maintenance Leader. The Maintenance Technician I will complete preventive maintenance (PM’s), troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild company equipment without direct supervision. They will also document the work being done on equipment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs duties in a safe manner using all approved safety equipment as instructed.
  • Able to troubleshoot Trystar equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Able to contact equipment manufacturers technical service for troubleshooting guidance, as needed.
  • Perform PM’s regularly and as required . Updates the maintenance management software entering assets, work orders, and generating PM and work order status reports.
  • General fabrication skills including welding (MIG&TIG), plasma cutting, oxygen acetylene torch cutting, and ban saw cutting.
  • Able to read facility blueprints (Eg. Laying out equipment and production lines).
  • Able to apply general mechanical knowledge/abilities in basic electrical meters with minimal supervision.
  • Able to disassemble and diagnose mechanical failures and preform the necessary repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Able to assist in machinery installs.
  • Able to maintain most equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Able to apply general plumbing skills to maintain equipment and facilities (Eg. Repairing sinks, drain lines, toilets, and urinals).
  • Able to apply general HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facilities (E.g. Repairing unit heaters, radiant tube heaters, furnaces, air conditioning systems, make up air units, industrial ovens, and exhaust fans).
  • Assist outside contractors repairing and installing machinery.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics (Eg. Repair and replace airlines, air fittings, valves, and cylinders).
  • Knowledge of hydraulics (E.g. Replacing hoses, pumps, and valves).
  • Maintains an effective working relationship will all employees.
  • Maintains a neat and clean working area throughout the day.
  • Able to safely operate forklifts, and scissor lifts.
  • Inventory and control stock of supplies.
  • Participates in Trystar’s Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding team’s performance and actively identifies and supporting process improvements.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
  • Two years of technical training in industrial maintenance or building repair and maintenance or four years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance associate.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions (English).
  • Familiar with operating power tools.
  • Must be able to safely perform job responsibilities.
  • Must be flexible in work hours.
