Position Overview

Nino Salvaggio is currently looking for an Assistant Bakery Manager for our Troy location.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Bakery Manager in effectively directing and supervising all functions and activities of the bakery including production, pastries, and artisan breads, and the sale and distribution of bakery products.
  • Assist the Bakery Manager in evaluating problem areas, potential issues, and in developing and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Ensure the bakery department adheres to company standards on cost control, customer service, merchandising, product quality, employee relations, presentation, preparation, ordering, inventory, cleanliness, rotation, sanitation and organization.
  • Ensure all department personnel follow approved procedures for receiving product, dating, price marking, and restocking cases to protect quality, accuracy, and product rotation.
  • Verify all deliveries to the bakery, confirming that items listed on vendor invoices are received and in satisfactory condition.
  • Manage inventory control to ensure necessary products are available for order fulfillment.
  • Maintain good communication within the store and throughout the organization.
  • Develop associates within the department through training, supervision, delegation, rewards, and discipline under the guidance of the Bakery Manager.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and friendly department image for customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring department personnel deliver prompt and courteous assistance.
  • Work with the Bakery Manager to ensure employee work schedules and time‑attendance records are accurate, following all Nino Salvaggio time administration guidelines.
  • Motivate associates to achieve company sales, cost‑control, and customer‑service goals.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Food Management Certification (preferred).
  • Six months of bakery experience (required).
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for eight or more hour periods.
  • Thorough familiarity with all products carried in the department, including full knowledge of differences (price, taste, preparation, or use) among the many varieties and types of baked goods offered.
