Compensation: $16.00 - $17.00 / hour
The Utility Team Member plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of a high-volume commissary kitchen. The primary responsibility of this position is dishwashing and warewashing support for culinary production. Secondary responsibilities include routine cleaning and upkeep of non-production kitchen areas to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient working environment.
This position is essential to supporting daily culinary operations and maintaining sanitation standards across the facility.
Key Responsibilities- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools
- Maintain continuous dish flow to support production and event prep schedules
- Properly sort, wash, sanitize, and store clean items according to food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area throughout each shift
- Perform routine cleaning of exterior and support areas, including but not limited to:
- Dumpster and refuse areas
- Utility and storage rooms
- Hallways, floors, and non-production kitchen spaces
- Empty trash and recycling from all designated areas and ensure proper disposal
- Follow established daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists
- Assist with deep cleaning projects as scheduled or directed by management
- Report maintenance or sanitation concerns to leadership promptly
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety policies
- Follow direction from the Executive Chef and culinary leadership
- Maintain a positive attitude and team‑first mindset
- Ability to pivot tasks as operational needs change
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
- Previous dishwashing or utility experience in a commercial kitchen preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- High‑volume commissary kitchen
- Exposure to heat, moisture, cleaning chemicals, and commercial kitchen equipment
Full‑time, hourly position.
Schedule is typically daytime.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
