This is a skilled position controlling production and load‑out of materials produced in plants. The role is based mostly in the Montgomery area. The plant operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of plant equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.

• Perform a preliminary walk‑around survey of the plant’s crushing equipment, identify maintenance problems, preventive maintenance items, worn equipment parts, emissions controls, and housekeeping items. Must be able to move levers to regulate flow of materials to and from conveyors, chutes, pumps, or storage bins.
• Be fully capable of successfully initiating the entire plant’s start‑up and shutdown process. Be capable of navigating through multiple computer screens to complete start‑up and shutdown, troubleshoot, retrieve reports, and electronically submit data when the system allows for electronic communication. Ensure safety of crew members and the public who may interact at the job site.
• Visually observe and monitor critical gauges and computer‑generated information to maximize plant productivity while preserving each asset associated with the crushing process.
• Assist in preventive maintenance and plant repairs, including lubrications and the entire clean‑up process.
• Assist other operators or maintenance personnel when heavy or awkward duties are required.
• Communicate with all levels of the organization about the plant, its components, needs, issues, and any enhancements that will provide additional efficiency gains. Provide accurate and timely information about the plant’s daily operating performance. Be proactive in troubleshooting and maintain a work environment without compromising required regulations, product quality, or safe work practices.
